A superb large 19th century Victorian breakfront, triple section oak library / barristers display bookcase with adjustable shelving. Circa 1880.
The open front bookcase with flared pediment top and desirable honey oak tiger grain sits over fluted column supports, embellished with neatly carved and unassuming roundels and corbels. The skilfully crafted and substantial oak structure displays a fully functional and well engineered, robust and adjustable shelving system throughout. All raised on a strong uncomplicated plinth base. All original backboards & shelving.
Good proportions. Stands and displays extremely well. Honey oak. Rich in colour and in grain.
Condition: Commensurate with age. Strong, robust and fully functional. Small dings, marks or scars associated with a good working piece of furniture (mainly confined to plinth base and knocks to bottom shelf). Displays a lovely patina & characteristics.
