Vintage Oak Architects Plans Chest of Drawers
An Impressive and highly decorative, mid 20th century, six drawer architects plans/maps chest, circa 1960. Constructed of oak, in two sections of three drawers for ease of portability. Each drawer with beautifully formed & engineered oak pull handles and patinated brass notation slides. Name Plaque attributed to B.Charles Roff & Co Ltd still present (middle top).
This piece of furniture is in its original condition with no restoration, which means the wear that have built up with usage and time gives it the character it shows today. Solid and beautifully patinated with various dings and scars. A true, honest interior design piece constructed around the 1960s. A well proportioned and substantial piece of furniture that can be halved in weight for ease of portability by simply removing the drawers.
Condition: Solid, robust and fully functional. Dings, dents, scars or losses have given this chest a consistency of character and charm throughout. Drawers are extremely clean for its age. Photographs sum this piece up nicely.
