A lovely example of a Victorian silver card case in fitted leather box with hallmarks for Howard James, Birmingham, 1889. The card case displays extremely well with borders engraved with lovers knots and tracery round a central monogram, (the back reserve vacant). Comes presented in its original fitted brown leather hinged case with a blue silk and velvet interior.
The case displays great shape with only light signs of wear. Photos sum up nicely. The hinge action is good and strong, both opening up and closing snugly and deliberately (not loose) into place. weight approx 60gms.
