Large Antique Edwardian Bass Brewery Advertising Pub Mirror
Large Antique Edwardian Bass Brewery Advertising Pub Mirror
A genuine antique original Bass brewery advertising pub mirror, circa 1901- 1910. This highly decorative and sought after, early Edwardian example displays the reverse painted typography and imagery for ‘Draught Bass’ and the iconic red triangle ‘Trade Mark’.
The makers mark for Bass, Ratcliff & Gretton display crisply within the gilded peripheral border. At the top the Bakelite ribbon plaques for ‘By Appointment’ and ‘Brewers to the King’ still exist, with central crest not present. All set within its original deep moulded and richly stained oak frame and boarded back.
The mirror plate and graphics display an enviable and authentic patina, with foxing, (dark spots) & distressing in the paint that highlight its antique character.
A striking interior design piece!
