Arts & Crafts Oak Library Bookcase Cabinet

Arts & Crafts Oak Library Bookcase Cabinet

£850.00

A striking Arts & Crafts oak library bookcase cabinet with original lock and key dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910. The cabinet displays a flared pediment top with ornate arched supports over twin leaded and stained glass doors with decorative motifs in a subtle shade of amber. The doors open out to reveal three substantial oak shelves that adjust to suit your needs. The left side door has brass catches to the top and bottom allowing the right side door with lock and key to open independently. At the bottom, a spacious cupboard with twin doors that lock by means of the same key, sits on a raised plinth base. The whole piece bought together by the wonderfully exposed and embossed, coppered hinges throughout!

We have another Arts & Crafts bookcase that you will see in the background of some of the photos that was sourced from the same estate. This can be found listed here and on our website, LeBove Interiors.

Displays a lovely patina, rich in colour and in grain.

Condition: Strong, robust & fully functional. Wear is commensurate with age. One very small fracture to glass & priced accordingly.

Sparse, historic worm holes to the back panel at the very bottom and treated as a precautionary measure.

Overall superb! A real gem!
